REMS AT BERWALDHALLEN (Visuals, light, concept)
At Berwaldhallen concert hall in Stockholm, REMS (Rapid Eye Movement Sleep), a collaboration between composer Jacob Mühlrad and artist Alexander Wessely, offered an immersive experience uniting music and visual art. Featuring the Swedish Chamber Orchestra under Martin Fröst and Vokalharmonin led by Fredrik Malmberg, the concert presented the Swedish premiere of Mühlrad’s choral piece Ay Li Lu, alongside acclaimed works like REMS, Time, and Kaddish. Wessely’s sculptures, interwoven with Mühlrad’s compositions, guided the audience through themes of dreams, lullabies, history, and spirituality, creating a profound reflection on universal human experiences.
